Portfolio
We have a diverse portfolio of investments.
They include a minority shareholding in Addax Bioenergy Sierra Leone, a sugarcane bioethanol and renewable electricity company in Makeni. The operation was started by AOG in 2008, with initial production in 2014 and first sales in early 2015. Majority ownership was transferred to a group of investors led by Sunbird Bioenergy Africa Limited in 2016.
Other examples include private equity funds focused on our preferred sectors/regions, and managed by reputable and trustworthy partners. These include an investment in company turnarounds through a fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management, in the US. This an indirect way of participating in the transformation of underperforming basic industries companies into business success, a theme that is part of our heritage.
